Raoultella terrigena (previously known as Klebsiella terrigena) is a Gram-negative, oxidase-negative, aerobic, nonmotile, capsulated, non-spore-forming bacterium. It was primarily recovered from soil and considered as a nonpathogenic species, although it harbours numerous virulence factors found in Klebsiella pneumoniae.
